Mariah wins at the Grammys!

Mariah wins 3 Grammys!

She outdid herself at the 2006 Grammy Awards.

She performed a medley of We Belong Together and Fly like a Bird. She was backed on Fly Like a Bird by Hezekiah Walker & the Love Fellowship Choir.

Superb performance in my opinion. We Belong Together was just wonderful. She had her pastor say some cool verses at the beginning and in the middle of Fly Like a Bird. Terri Hatcher commented that it was like everybody was saved after that performance.

Mariah really put her whole heart into that performance. Her voice was superb. She looked amazing as well. The dress accentuated the right things and I thought she did an amazing performance.

I am so pleased she decided to sing Fly Like a Bird. Her introduction before her performance was amazing… instead of talking about herself, she said how her evangelist had told her many years that everything was going to be ok and how music for her is very much linked to her spirituality and without it she would never have gotten through anything… what faith she has… and she displayed for all to see at the Grammys. Wow… For a megastar like her, to sing a gospel song so openly is pretty amazing. She’s not ashamed, she’s proud of her faith in God and that makes it just so amazing. I’m in awe… superb performance.

I woke up early this morning to catch the Grammys. It was a bit strange ‘cos just as I was settling down, the Astro live feed got cut off and I was worried I would be unable to catch her performance but I did! The feed came back just in time. HURRAH! I was bowled over and I feel so much joy when I see Christians revelling in God’s love… 

It was disappointing that she didn’t win any of the major Grammy’s such as Album of the year, Song of the year or Record of the Year. However, it doesn’t matter because i think the results matter more than just an award. She was best selling artist of 2005, We Belong Together was the top song of 2005, she scored an additional 3 No.1’s in 2005… best selling album of 2005….and the other awards she had won at the other award shows over the last few months prove a lot.

I think the Grammys like boring people. HAHAH.

The best was when U2 was announced the winner of Song of the Year… and as they were walking up to the stage, We Belong Together was played for a few seconds first… before their song came on.. Shows you the Grammy people thought that Mariah was going to win… maybe it was their little show of defiance. HAHAHA.

Well the Grammys have snubbed Mariah in the last 15 years so it’s not surprising that this would happen. Giving her 3 Grammys must be their little thing…

At least she won 3 Grammys! Too bad she couldn’t go up onstage and do some thanking… it was given in the pretelecast….

The good news though is that Kanye and john Legend also had 3 Grammys… phew! Plus they didn’t win the major awards of the night so it’s a good thing too.

Best thing of the night was Mariah giving glory to God! YES!
