Media: On TV
I had often seen this movie on Astro but it looked so boring those times so I never stayed on to watch it. Yes, I am surfer.
Today however, I had time so I started watching it, right from the beginning. However, midway through the movie, it obviously decides to rain and thereby causing my Astro to go out at the most crucial times. Argh. It always happens when I watch something and get really engrossed in it.
It’s quite nice being thrown back into the 1920s. Reminds me of the The Great Gatsby (A&E).
The acting was so-so. The characters looked so familiar. The main character was from Dirty Dancing - Havana Nights and the other actress was in Wicker Park
… the male actors looked familiar too. One of them used to play jocks in teen flicks. Hmmm…
It’s quite an old movie but still quite moving. Unrealistic in some aspects though. I mean, do you just fall in love with one kiss? Would you propose to a girl just because you want to kiss her? Is love so shallow? Was love so shallow in the 1920s? Is it love or lust they are experiencing? Or just plain infatuation? Marriage for security?
This movie actually reminds me a bit of Pride & Prejudice (Widescreen Edition)… the themes and types of love they talk about anyway.
There was a guy from Love Actually in it… the superstar who was releasing “Love is All Around” in Love Actually (Widescreen Edition)? He played the father… he’s a good comedian. I like him… just so neurotic.
I loved the castle. There were these cool rooms, I loved the cool effect the castle gave off. I wished I lived in a castle with a moat.
I think this movie had its funny bits … as do all British based movies. I found the storyline quite intriguing but a bit hard to immerse myself in… I mean, it was interesting that Cassandra fell for her sister’s fiance and that her sister fell in love with her fiance’s brother… and what more the gardener who loved Cassandra? Such love triangles, squares and pentagons.
I’m a sucker for romantic films so I would ask people to watch I Capture the Castle for that factor. But be warned, it’s not all action… I mean, I found it boring a few times when I would flip through midway. I think it was the cinematography that gave off this dull, drab, dark, mouldy feel. The skies were always dark and the castle never seemed quite as majestic…the dialogue was alright. You just have to start right from the beginning to catch the essence of the movie.
I don’t think it was a GREAT movie…it is watchable…as the great Simon Cowell once said, “It was pleasant.” (He said it to Jasmine Trias… in one of her final performances on American Idol)
Words & Music by Daniel Chua
I’m no longer my own
I’m bought with a price
I’m redeemed by the blood
The blood of Christ
This life I live I live by faith in Christ alone
Who gave himself a ransom for my soul
I will not trade this righteousness and grace I’ve found
for nothing can satisfy the debt of love I [...]
I have writer’s block. One of the most amazing things happened this week and I can’t find the words to describe it. I’ve been meaning to write it down for a couple of days now but every time I sit infront of the computer, I find my mind blank and unsure how to start. I don’t [...]
Mariah wins 3 Grammys!
She outdid herself at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
She performed a medley of We Belong Together and Fly like a Bird. She was backed on Fly Like a Bird by Hezekiah Walker & the Love Fellowship Choir.
Superb performance in my opinion. We Belong Together was just wonderful. She had her pastor say some cool [...]
Dear Acupofsky,
In my complete stupidity, I deleted your comment about beer guy. I am still reading. I stalled a bit but should continue soon.
I listed your comment as spam and when I wanted to re-tract it, I couldn’t! sorry! continue to post though.

” The Tabernacle was set up, and on that day the cloud covered it. Then from evening until morning the cloud over the Tabernacle appeared to be a pillar of fire. This was the regular pattern–at night the cloud changed to the appearance of fire. When the cloud lifted from over the sacred tent, the [...]

“I Pray”
Performed by Paul Robins
Written by Mariah Carey
Lord I pray
That in my lifetime there will come a day
When the world will wake up with uncloudy eyes
And there’ll be no more need to cry
Won’t You bring that dream to life?
Oh Lord I pray
Deliver us from bigotry and hate
Please give shelter to the wayward children
Comfort them and [...]
Bah… absolutely annoyed. Not sure why this is so. Since changing over to this blog, have you realised my rather impersonal posts? It is starting to grate at me as well… I can’t help it if all I’ve done the past week is focus on making my site feature rich when at the end of [...]
After fiddling around for a long time with this, I have finally created a wish list page which is viewable on the local site here or at the Amazon site here.
Yes, I just learnt to link so I’m fully utilizing it.
Well, I lost all the money I won the other night. Lost RM40 last night.
Truly nothing [...]
I have finally installed some form of advertisement on my page. It would be excellent if you spot anything that interests you in the advertisements, to click it. I know I would. Haha. Plus I want to see how good their targeted ads are. If you want to add Google on your site, you [...]
