Malaysia made it to the headlines again! We got a mention in the same article as, “American Idol crowns winner!” I’m shocked.
I think this article explains Katharine’s “mechanical”-ness. It’s true that she looked at the cameras at the right time, it’s true that she really knew how to turn on her sultry-ness. That’s why I like her. I can’t wait for her to hit it big time. She worked the stage, baby! I’m a McPhee fan!
I woke up early to send Carmen off, drove to the office to catch American Idol LIVE. The only technical glitch was at approximately 9:45am. All of us were screaming and crying but luckily, we got to catch Prince and see them crown the American Idol winner.
My palms were sweaty and my heart was beating really fast midway throughout the show.
It was a decent show. They all put on a great performance and I am extremely happy that Katharine McPhee got so much stage time. The camera loves her!
I couldn’t help but be stunned by Katharine McPhee all throughout the night though. She looked amazing in every outfit… she looked fabulously chic in her white suit, she looked absolutely stunning in black when she was singing with Meatloaf and she looked so modern in black when she won her car, she looked great in red when she was singing with Burt and Dionne… she looked absolutely faint-worthy in her last slinky pale champagne gold number. I loved how that dressed used 2 types of cloth… very unique… she looked absolutely hot. Better than any of those Oscar red carpet dresses. KATHARINE MCPHEE!
(Red Carpet)
(performing, yes with Meatloaf)
(the dress reminds me of Roberto Cavalli or something like that. I remember someone wearing a dress like this once… using two types of cloth and I remember thinking, “wow, very cool!” Who was it? I believe that dress was a greyish blue?)
I am very happy that even when Taylor won, they didn’t chuck Katharine aside and go, “YEAY YEAY TAYLOR!” Nope, they actually allowed Katharine to say her thanks.
I have to say her stylist and her had a great field day with clothes. I’m happy though ‘cos without a doubt, she was the stunner of the night… she was the star! How could I forget, her red carpet purple dress? I almost died when I saw her in it. I love her bold colours… very nice! she carries off colours really well. I think it’s her hair colour!
Did I miss out on any of her other dress changes? I have to say pale champagne gold must be the new in colour ‘cos Carrie wore it to her ACM awards yesterday too.
Carrie Underwood opened the show and it was awesome. I was pleased. She sang her current single “Please don’t forget to Remember Me” … she reminds me of Barbie in a good way and her eyes… smokey grey… so pretty…
I am also glad that Lisa Tucker got good stage time.
I thought the guest artists were pretty cool… ranging from Clay Aiken to Burt Bacharach to Dionne Warwick, Prince, Meatloaf, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige… not a bad range.
The good thing about this show was that it wasn’t a guessing game on who was going to win… there was no threatening atmosphere which was nice. Right to the end, we didn’t have an inkling on who might take the crown…plus, they kept the judges out of it a lot so that was awesome. I was pleased with that.. no final comments from them which made it all better… it was a feel good show…
A great night. I can’t wait to fully concentrate tonight. This time I can really hear them sing and admire Katharine’s gorgeous-ness…. GO KATHARINE MCPHEE!!!
