*ahem* If you read my previous post yesterday, it was rumoured that Mariah Carey ensured her legs for $1 billion dollars.
Actually, it seems like a Benny Medina kind of thing ‘cos if I recall, J. Hoe aka Jennifer Lopez ensured her butt for $1 billion a few years ago…
It’s true… they unveiled a 16 feet tall replica of her legs and she was awarded with the Celebrity Legs of a Goddess Award from the Gillette Legs of a Goddess Ad Campaign…
I’m not sure if this cheapens her status in any way. I actually kind of cringed ‘cos it just seems so un-Mariah you know?
Ok, if you wanna say, sure David Beckham has signed with Gillette before and it’s a global brand but Brand Beckham has always done endorsements and that’s fine.
But Mariah, having been in the business for so long and never having really done any of this, it’s weird to see her be part of advertising campaigns. I don’t know… it’s weird though. But an honour.

The next odd coupling - Malaysia and Disneyland.
Here are the articles for better understanding:-
We’re in talks with Disneyland
Pm has met up group over Disneyland proposal
Not to be negative, but does anybody else think this is weird? Why is Disneyland suddenly doing such expansion in the Asian region? We already have Hong Kong Disneyland… and 4 hours away, we’re going to have KL Disneyland? I’m not so sure… I know we have over-zealous businessmen who want to make money but come on!
I’m sorry, Malaysia is not in the right frame of mind to even consider such a business venture. We have 1st class facilities coupled with 3rd world mentality. We won’t be able to handle something of this scale.
Malaysians aren’t going to be working there as park attendants. It’s too beneath them which means we would be hiring foreign help AGAIN. We haven’t educated our public on preservation so I don’t think having something like Disneyland is going to work.
Have you been to Disneyland? Have you seen how well kept their rides are?
Plus with our ultra-volatile weather, I don’t think it’s going to help with having rides outdoors. It’s too hot here!
I don’t want Malaysia to be seen as a country where the Disneyland is the worst in the world… no way. I can imagine how unkempt it’ll be.
I mean, look at Genting Highlands! We can’t do theme parks in this country. Have you been to Bukit Tinggi? A’ Famosa? Of course, bringing in a Disney brand will boost our status but we can’t handle it! We’re not ready for it and I don’t believe Malaysians have the right mindset for this yet. No no no! I hope this idea doesn’t materialise.
I know it’s a Malaysia Boleh attitude but no… it’ll only be feeding our already oversized egos… it’ll be one of those things for the Malaysia Book of Records again… we can do the biggest and bestest of things. YEAH RIGHT! NOooo…. I was horrified when I heard about this whole Disneyland thing. Plus, does anybody see how close it is to Hong Kong Disneyland? To Tokyo Disneyland? Soon, we’ll have Melbourne Disneyland and Indonesia Disneyland… Bangkok Disneyland… you get the idea…
What cringe-worthy news… eww…
