So I spent my lunch time yesterday in front of the television at the office, watching Siti Nurhaliza and Datuk K talk to reporters on their impending marriage.
I thought Siti was so pretty… I think she’s really pretty. She looks better when she’s moving and animated. Indeed, she seemed patient and there was not a hint of annoyance on her face even when reporters were being pigs. But then again, you could tell it was a very cramped place so that could explain why the reporters were getting antsy. Plus, how annoying was the emcee of the press conference? He was rude and obnoxious and if you’re going to hold such an important press conference, PLEASE GET BETTER MICROPHONES!
All in all, being a person who does not understand much Malay, I got the gist of her answers… I thought she answered it well and elegantly. Also, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. It’s one of those, “wow, she’s so freakin’ pretty, how does she do it?” She looked resplendent even in a simple, yellow/ orange/ peach baju kurung. HOW?!!
I think Datuk K is pretty masculine looking which is great. He looks quite sophisticated actually, with his jet black hair, his moustache, very Malay looking. But he stands upright and confident, his shoulders back and he looked pretty nice in his yellow shirt too. He is 20 years older than her which brings me back to Katharine McPhee once again…
What’s the difference between Siti Nurhaliza and Katharine McPhee? Why is there no hoo-hah over Siti’s marriage? Although, listening to the radio, there are a lot of disgruntled men out there who are upset to see Siti give herself over to an older man. I take back what I said… hahah but Malaysians are rather shallow-minded … I think it’s pretty neat actually.
The only disturbing problem with this set up is that Datuk K used to be married and has 4 kids. So yes, Siti Nurhaliza is technically the “2nd wife” …
But so you see, Katharine McPhee thus has the better deal. Unless there’s another side we don’t know about? If you want to find out more about Katharine McPhee’s boyfriend, please click here and here.
The most exciting thing is that Siti Nurhaliza is the first Malaysian celebrity to have such a talked about wedding… I mean, the fact that people are actually interested, that’s pretty good… and not just one race but all the races, I do believe this is quite a feat she’s achieved.
So this is how the British people feel when they read about Princess Diana, David & Victoria Beckham and whatever other British celebrity that make it to their front page every day… ooh, it’s quite exciting! and you’re just intrigued even though you might not like them… Ahh…
Siti Nurhaliza and Datuk K’s wedding is the wedding of the year/ decade / century for Malaysia! hahaha… Oh well, she deserves it. After all, she gave us hope that our Malaysian music industry does produce SOME talent with brains to capitalise on their popularity…

I guess that’s it. I know I’m 24 hours late with this news. Aren’t you glad I’m not reporting news. I’m actually rather pleased that someone else is getting married to someone who’s 20 years older… it makes Katharine McPhee look more normal… HAHA.
