Prayer works…

At church on Sunday, I’m attempting to summarise here, our pastor said that if we prayed and fasted humbly before God, we would see nations and families transformed…

God gives us so much power some times, doesn’t he? We are led to believe that we hold the power but we don’t. The pastor clarified this too, it doesn’t mean that just because we fast and pray, God HAS to answer us… He doesn’t. He’s still the sovereign King.

Now I have always believed in prayer but I never knew how powerful it was until the beginning of this year when God answered my prayers. (Just read through my archives. Should be some time in February 2006)

Some times when we spend more time with God, we start understanding what He wants for us. We start understanding how we should phrase our requests. It’s a lesson in itself that God is trying to teach us… and once we grasp it, He shows just how amazing He is. He gives us time to change our perspective … to see His.

I can never say enough how God can work His magic and how He has done it once again.

I remember being told that faith without action was stupid and I too remember being told by people that prayer is so pathetic and pointless. I’m paraphrasing. They thought it was as good as not doing anything at all whenever I suggested prayer…

I was really angry at these people for saying that because from my experience with God, I knew that prayer meant everything and more… our hands aren’t powerful enough an we are most of the time clueless, so why do we want to rely on our own strength when we can lean on the Creator’s? I never thought God would enlighten these people and I thought it wasn’t possible until now…after a few months, God answered my prayers again and these people are beginning to see that turning to God is some times, the only way… for doors to open, for things to change and for people to transform. It’s a peaceful transition too and it’s wonderful to see these people in awe and assured in the power of prayer.

Wow, thank you God. Amen.
