Words of Wisdom…

GO Mariah Carey…

Sometimes life can be kinda like a rollercoaster ride. It’s like you’re going along and everything seems cool. And it’s not like you’re looking down, but you’re not necessarily looking up to see who’s really in control.

When I was little I used to be so scared of rollercoasters, but eventually you have to face your fears.

Obviously it’s not a big secret that my life has always been kinda like a rollercoaster. I’ve had my ups and downs, and I’ve had moments when I felt like I was being twisted and turned, when my life seemed to be upside down and inside out and every which way. And just when I thought the scariest part was over, something even more horrifying would happen. But then, after all the hysteria, everything stopped. There was a moment of peace. I had gained a deeper kind of faith, and I knew it was all part of God’s bigger plan for me.

So if whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, I guess I’m strong. It’s kinda like being on a rollercoaster: if you don’t get on the ride, you won’t experience the adventure.

-from The Adventures of Mimi

It makes me glad that Mariah internalises so much and displays such gratitude and humility. I loved her Charmbracelet era where she talked about her breakdown and making it ‘through the rain’ and although she doesn’t reference that time anymore, I know from the opening of The Adventures of Mimi, she hasn’t changed… :) YES! GO MARIAH!

———-

I think that overcoming insecurities is a life long job. As I’m sure
you know I have had my share with it all ready, and it will always
continue and manifest itself in different ways. But I think it is
definitely something we should all try and work on in life so that we
can be the best we can be. Because I truly believe we are the only ones
who really hold ourselves back from what we really want in life. I know
I held myself back from things. So getting to the real answer to your
question I guess would be that you really only have one life to live.
So why let what others think of you hold you back when were all gonna
die anyway? HA! And I say that as lightheartedly as possible. Do what
you need to do to feel good about who you are. If that means seeing
someone on a weekly basis then I say go for it.
