The OC Season 4 Episode 2

“The truth is… I still love you. I really really do… but I just can’t, I can’t.”

My heart melted when Summer said that. It was so emotive and moving. It may be the best line I have heard from The OC to date. It stole the show for me.

——————————————-

Ryan and Seth head to Mexico to find Volchuck. Seth tells his parents where they are. Sandy and Kirsten go and find them to make sure they are safe.

Ryan doesn’t find Volchuck but Seth does. Seth lets Volchuck run away again. Sandy and Kirsten meet Ryan. Yes, Seth told them where to meet. Ryan feels betrayed. Seth got a tattoo - “Senorita Vixen.”

Julie is still sitting in a stupor. Kaitlin tells her, “other people are still alive”. How precise and blunt is Kaitlin?! Love her!

Kaitlin nips clothes from a charity drive for Darfur people and sells them to the 2nd hand designer clothes shop. Julie finds out that Kaitlin’s been stealing the clothes.

The dean of Harbor is Tia Carrere!

Let me see, Luke’s twin brothers are so gross.

Kaitlin is a mess too. She’s very smart. She’s very much like Julie in terms of getting her way and being sly but unfortunately has no nice streak like Marissa. Oh well… before Ryan came into the picture, I don’t think Marissa was all that friendly either I think…

Summer goes back to Brown to discover Taylor in her bed. Taylor was the light of the show. Her acting was superb. I loved it!

“When was the last time you shaved your legs?! … you have hobbit feet!”

Taylor’s acting was very amazing and I love how the French rolled off her tongue.

We discover that Taylor got married. She sounds like she married some aristocrat and she needs a divorce from him. That’s why she went back to Newport but freaked out. Ethan Hawke was at her rehearsal dinner and wedding. I like how she’s so matter of fact. She’s so cool! She’s beginning to grow on me. As long as she doesn’t go around trying to break up the best couple on tv, I love her.

She talks Summer into writing a letter to Seth but Summer can’t.

Taylor realises how impersonal Summer’s side of the room is. Recalling back, Summer is a very sentimental person so for her not to have pictures of anybody is a shocker. I remember her room in Newport had a wall with “1st circle core” pictures.

Summer says everybody in America hides their feelings. HEY! I thought only Chinese do that! I think Chinese are more extreme.

Taylor goes off in a huff because Summer yells at her. Summer goes to find Taylor at the airport and they make up.

Summer does a sleep-in for a tree with Che (i.e sleeps outside with the tree). Summer’s roommate is a slut according to Taylor and Taylor meets Summer’s roommate. An Asian… what an interesting casting considering there were never any black people involved in the whole show thus far. There was a Hispanic dude. DJ I think in 2nd Season (Marissa’s boytoy for awhile) and I believe that’s it.

Is there anything else? Sandy realises Julie sent Ryan on the murder mission.

The best part of this episode were the Taylor and Summer scenes especially Summer’s, “The truth is…. I still love you. I really really do.” I love Summer…. her character has so much range… she can be haughty, violent, soft, sentimental, romantic, vulnerable, sad, angry, cheery… she’s the best!

Well, I posted in my previous post an article that stated that The OC’s Season 4 episode 1 season premiere didn’t do too well with ratings. OH man….. People, we gotta keep watching the OC! I want Season 4 to complete!

Seth and Summer better reconcile… I hope it’ll be bittersweet. I can’t beear to see them so awkward with another and so apart.

Why can’t they all deal with grief?! There’s just so much bitterness and dysfunctionality involved. I’m not sure who is handling the situation the best. How would I handle it? I don’t know.

I’m so excited about the upcoming episode…the Ryan bits are a bit draggy but the Summer and Taylor bits are the best! The best is the only way to describe it. Probably the most lighthearted of the episode. I love Taylor. Even though she’s got troubles of her own, she seems to be able to help other people more than herself… she’s always been like that even in high school. She’s a solver… and she’s pretty good at it. :) Remember her solving Seth and Summer’s intimacy issues by introducing Seth to the Kama Sutra?! She’s hilarious!

I am not writing chronologically by the way. I’m not a very good reviewer, am I? The truth is, I loved this episode for all its worth. The Summer and Taylor bits bumped this episode up. The direction and editing was still good. Very enjoyable so far. I love the edge.

I can rest easy now. Read Season 4 Episode 1 here.
