Yesterday, I was at the LRT station in the morning and was so amazed at Malaysians lining up to wait their turn to get onto the train.
Seriously, they were lined up in single file behind the yellow line too. There are several doors to the train carriages so in front of each box which indicated where the door would open, Malaysians were standing in single file and waiting patiently.
There was someone who jumped queue and was cursed to death.
Malaysians showed their courtesy and gentleness yesterday. Wow! I guess these people are the ones who take the train daily.
It took me 45 minutes to finally get on the train since I was waiting in line. Luckily I had my Creative Zen Vision:M to keep me company. Watched an episode of the Gilmore Girls.
I had to wait so long since all the trains that stopped at the station were full of people. The train that I took was relatively empty till we reached the other stations.
One of my grouses however are the rates the parking people charge. Now, only in Malaysia are we not allowed to walk to the LRT stations. It’s just not feasible since the stations are not exactly strategically located and too far away from the houses.
We have to drive to the station, park our cars at RM4 a day and then take the public transport at RM2 (one way) to go to the CBD. This equates to RM8 a day excluding petrol. CAN YOU IMAGINE? The parking spots are open air and not paved well so this means puddles and mud when it rains. Atrocious.
I have to say though he people who took the LRT made a very good impression on me… I was just so impressed with their patience and waiting in line. That made the ride enjoyable.
