OK, so I’ve been waiting for this video to premiere … I’ve paced around, anxious for about a week or two.
And finally, it premieres… however, CMT.com didn’t let non-US viewers watch the video! Can you imagine the anguish it put me in? And the worst part was reading the press releases stating how the music video would premiere on CMT.com and how the video would also be on the television station and on heavy rotation for 6 hours.
Yes, I was practically crying when CMT.com said, “Video Not Accessible”.
Finally, a very very very kind Carrie fan stuck it up on Youtube. THANK YOU!
If you are in the US, you can watch the video premiere of Carrie Underwood’s So Small music video here.
And for the rest of us, here it is:-
My thoughts on the video? Carrie Underwood is really getting very thin. It’s worrying. Mid way watching, I broke out in a cold sweat, my heart skipped a beat and I wanted to scream, “CARRIE! PLEASE DON’T DO ANYTHING CRAZY LIKE PLASTIC SURGERY AND END UP LIKE DOLLY PARTON! PLEASE DON’T DESTROY YOUR BEAUTY!”
It’s true. Carrie Underwood’s face is getting so slim that her eyes look like their bulging (a bit) and her nose seems quite sharp. I’m not sure how to explain it but she looked a bit TOO thin.
Her dress is nice though. I love satin. Her hair and make-up… I love eye make-up is great as usual. I thought her lips looked a bit plump. I hope it’s all make-up …
I thought one of the characters in the music video narrative was quite pretty - the girl who stands by the side of the road. There were some angles they got of her where she looked absolutely stunning.
The concept is a great video. The visual effects are cool. It shows what negativity can do, how times can seem tough and what can happen but, it rewinds to tell of a different ending, a happier one…
I guess it’s trying to say that things are really only as hard as we look at it? Life and love, at the end of the day, are bigger and better than the problems that we think consumes us.
Re-reading the “So Small” lyrics, I must say that it is very meaningful, hopeful and while watching the video for the 3rd time or so, it struck me again, how powerful music is… how, you can send the right messages out and how you’re reaching masses and if one or two lives are touched by the lyrics and change, then you’ve accomplished something…
Man, I think I’m going to go cry now…seriously. The lyrics mean so much to me right now. What a great song this is! No wonder it is a hit already. Deservedly so!
