Why does Malaysia have an Olympics 2008 Song?

Can somebody tell me why Malaysia has an Olympic anthem? Also with a corny title like, “Olimpik di Beijing” - I was waiting to see the artists sing it with passion (eyes closed, singing their heart out) It’s not hosted in our country and it’s not like we’ve been that amazing at the Games. Maybe you can enlighten me.

Quite a host of Malaysian singers though I must say - Jaclyn Victor, Ning Baizura, Maya Karin and others… I’m not too in tune with the local music scene. EEP.

It’s quite a nice song but the production is TERRIBLE! It’s all muffled and none of the voices truly stand out… I’m not sure if it’s the quality of the video but it’s bad production in my opinion.
