It was only a matter of time, I guess. Katharine McPhee’s album sales were rather bad and even with great videos and promotion, it just never sold like expected. Even if she is a stunning girl.

However, maybe the Idol machine is waning. Look at Jordin Sparks’ debut album charting at No. 10 on the Billboard Charts and selling a paltry 119,000 in first week sales. Ok wait, 119,000 is not bad in my opinion but when you got other Idol winners selling 300,000 and above, it’s a sad figure.

But we shouldn’t feel too bad. Katharine McPhee’s got a new movie coming up and she’s still very pretty which should help with her appeal somewhat.

She just needs the right team to help with finding the right image for her. I think the problem people had was that she was theatrical, jazzy and bluesy on American Idol but came out with a pop sounding, run-off-the-mill album which is a jarring difference and I think for most of us, we like to fit people in a box. She’s not a Madonna who is well known for image transitions and Katharine McPhee should have (maybe) stuck to the status quo initially and morphed when her career was more established. I mean Mariah Carey’s stuck to her butterflies for years now and you don’t see people complaining.

But what’s done is done.

Moving forward, I am sure she’ll still do better than Taylor Hicks.

That pose for this double spread must have been very painful for her… to be contorted in such manner but it turned out really nice! 

ooh… Catwoman Kat! I love the pants. Only certain people can pull of high waists and flairs… Kat’s one of them.

I love it when Katharine McPhee frowns. I love her eyebrows too… and this picture reminds me of Charlies’ Angels from the ’70s.

The eye make-up, lipstick and hair does it for me! Wowsers! I believe this may be my favourite picture of the shoot.

Now this shot I don’t really get. What’s with the hat? I like her arms though. Especially her right shoulder.

Now this picture for the “Contents” page is most appropriate. It’s a great ensemble… classic and simple. LOVE IT!

Some fans say the pose reminds them of Mariah Carey & Celine Dion…

Check this other site about Celine Dion’s “Taking Chances” cover… in my opinion, I think her make-up is hideous!! She looks TERRIBLE!!! What’s with the hair?! AAGGHH!! Nightmare! I’m just going to scroll up now and stare at Katharine McPhee.

Man, I like this shot for reason. There are other shots from the photoshoot. Maybe because Katharine McPhee’s body is contorted into a hue of some sort. I have no idea. It must have been quite uncomfortable but the picture came out beautifully.

The video is flavoured with the Katharine McPhee that I remember from American Idol so it is definitely a refreshing change from her 1st video, Over It, which was… quite dull in comparison… yeah, she looked good in it but to me, it was a bit over-done with the posing. Also she was always pouting and there was no sunshine in the Over It video. Love Story on the other hand is so cheerful (maybe ‘cos the song is quite catchy) but at least she smiles more in Love Story!

Blender rated the Love Story video 4 stars and deservedly so.

The choreography in the video is very good. I love how some of her head flips and knee jerks go in time with the beat and those moments to me, make this video a favourite.

Not to mention the fact that Katharine McPhee looks very pretty in it… the truth is, you can’t deny the fact that Katharine McPhee is a stunner! 

My favourite parts have to be when she’s dancing with her mic stand, when she’s with her with her band on one end and her back-up dancers on the other and just when she’s generally in her yellow dress… I loved that set.

The lighting, hair and make-up were all commendable and helped to enhance Katharine McPhee’s radiant looks.

I like it that Katharine McPhee is only one of the few artists where directors want close-up shots of her face and it’s extreme close-up shots, not just close-ups.

I liked this video because the choreography was not the standard, run off the mill pop/hip-hop synchronised dancing we see so often these days. It has a 50s/60s style and rhythm yet it also has a current and contemporary flavour. It’s hard to describe the atmosphere it creates but I love it! It’s smooth, not disjointed. Excellent excellent!

We must admit that Katharine McPhee looks stunning on the upcoming issue of Stuff Magazine.

I like the lighting in the first image… The cover shot is a bit TOO much in my opinion.

She’s got a really pretty face. I’m just not sure I’m liking the stool shot (Haha) very much.

She reminds me of Beyonce in the first screencap.

I guess she knows she’s got great legs… after all, she did work hard to get ‘em… work it !!
